I accepted a really fun songwriting challenge two months ago when a representative from The Food Allergy and Anaphylaxis Network (FAAN) asked if I could write a song for their Food Allergy Awareness Week. They wanted to create a video that could help promote their campaign to get involved during the week of May 9th – 15th, 2010.
I am a huge fan…of FAAN (if they only had a dime for every time they heard that!) and am happy to support them in their mission and all the great work they do on behalf of those affected by allergies and anaphylaxis. Even though I am a canuck from the great white north, the work that they do crosses borders in awareness and makes this world a little easier for folks like us!
Please click on the video and you will be able to hear the new tune. I love how they have added some great graphics. They also focus on many allergies, not just peanut allergies. As you’ll here in the song, it doesn’t take much, but if we all do something collectively during this one week, it will have a long last affect on creating safer communities for all.
P.S. I was given inspiration for the melody of the chorus after hearing my door bell ring…
